The debut post!

Here we go! This is the first installment of West Wind, your daily drop of thoughts, ideas, and info for this Season.

Why a daily newsletter? Great question! Currently I’ve been making regular updates with the ZMT Books Dispatch, my “traditional” author newsletter, where I send out whatever I’ve been working on to whoever is interested. That’s been going well, and I don’t intent to stop. I’ve also been doing a weekly lore drop for Frontier Flora, everyone’s favorite wild west creature cultivation series, with 39/108 entries in the Handbook currently unlocked. Then there are the various short stories I’ve been working on, and the next installment of Euphony of Seasons. Oh, and I have a full-time job, two teenagers, and a property to maintain. So why, dear Holy Spirit, are you calling me to take on yet another obligation, especially one as intensive as a daily newsletter?

Because honestly, I don’t think it’s that intensive. I’m shooting for a goal of about 300 words per day, which seems pretty reasonable. As far as ideas about what to post, I don’t think that will be a problem either. I constantly have thoughts about things that I want to write articles about, but don’t have enough material to write a full-length, “high-quality editorial” about. So instead of spending weeks agonizing over making something so perfect that it will win an award, I’ll just do little bite-sized posts once per day. It’s easier to digest things that way, anyhow.

So here we are. The first entry is just meta about the whole thing. As for the name of this section, I get emails from the Dominican Province of St. Albert the Great (a.k.a OP Central) and their daily video series called A Word of Hope. Well, just change that around a bit and you’ve got Wind of Hope, and that’s what you call me!

Thanks for reading, more tomorrow.
